Serving Irving, TX Homeowners

Irving holds a special place in my story. It's where I hit rock bottom — and where I chose to rebuild. Now I serve Irving homeowners with honest, certified HVAC work.

What does Irving, TX mean to Omar Jacobo?

Irving is where I faced the hardest moment of my life and made the decision that changed everything. In October 2020, I was sitting on the floor of a single-bedroom apartment in Irving, about to be evicted. I had nothing. I sat there and contemplated whether to end my life or fight for a different one. I chose to fight. On January 1, 2021, I made a New Year's resolution — sobriety — and I've kept that promise for over five years.

Irving is also where I met Mariafernanda Jacobo. We both worked at Mi Cocina restaurant — I was a waiter, she was a hostess. We've been together 12 years and married for 11. So when I drive through Irving to service a home, I'm driving through my own history. Every street has a memory, and every job I complete there is proof that the worst chapter of your life doesn't have to be the last one.

What makes Irving's housing stock unique for HVAC?

Irving has one of the most diverse housing stocks in DFW. Near downtown and the Heritage District, you'll find homes built in the 1950s and 1960s — ranch-style houses with original ductwork that's been patched and extended over decades. These homes often have undersized systems because they were built before modern insulation standards. The ductwork is usually in the slab or under the house, which makes modifications challenging but not impossible.

Then you have the Las Colinas area and newer developments near MacArthur Boulevard, where homes are larger and more modern. These properties typically have two-zone systems with equipment in the attic. The contrast between old Irving and new Irving means I need to be versatile — one call might be a 1960s single-story with a window unit conversion, and the next might be a 3,000 square-foot home with a two-stage heat pump. I handle both with the same level of care.

What are the most common HVAC problems in Irving homes?

The most common issues I see in Irving are aging R-22 systems that need replacement, duct leaks in older homes, and capacitor failures during peak summer heat. Irving's older neighborhoods often have homes where the original HVAC system was replaced once in the 1990s or early 2000s, and those replacement systems are now at the end of their lifespan. That means a lot of Irving homeowners are facing their second major system decision.

I also see a lot of homes in Irving where previous technicians did patch jobs — adding refrigerant to a leaking system instead of finding and fixing the leak, or replacing a capacitor without checking the compressor amperage. I don't do patch jobs. When I diagnose a problem, I tell you the truth about what's going on, what your options are, and what I would do if it were my house. That's my standard for every Irving home.

How does Irving's diversity connect with Frosty's HVAC?

Irving is one of the most culturally diverse cities in Texas. The community includes large Hispanic, Asian, and African American populations. As a bilingual (English and Spanish) business owner who was born in Mexico City, I connect with Irving's diversity on a personal level. Many of my Irving customers are first-generation homeowners who want to take care of their investment, and I respect that deeply.

I explain everything in plain language — no jargon, no pressure. If a customer is more comfortable in Spanish, we switch. Hablamos Español. It's not about a sales pitch. It's about making sure every homeowner understands what's happening with their system and feels confident in their decision.

What other cities near Irving does Frosty's HVAC serve?
